Description
This course is designed to help students gain a broader understanding of marketing and the development of cosmetics and fragrances. Students will learn to identify major fragrance families and the important role fragrances play in the fashion industry. Students will also learn how to identify target markets and develop marketing strategies based on market research for a cosmetic product.
Objectives:
• Explain the niche and early beginnings of some of the industry’s major cosmetic giants
• Identify the main categories that comprise the cosmetic industry
• Explain the importance of fragrances to high fashion designers
• Identify the four main ingredients used in fragrances and explain their purpose
• Define a cosmetic companies target market using demographics, psychographics, and market segmentation
• Understand the role an effective logo and product package can play in the success of a company or product
• Develop a marketing strategy for a mock business. Creating an effecti
