Description

Students will learn the daily operations of a retail business. They will learn about leadership tools, human resource management, and operation management methods. Students will also gain an understanding of the hiring process, communication tools, conflict management, loss prevention, time management, and the importance of delegation. Students will also learn retail math in regards to daily operations.
Objectives:
• Determine the priorities of a manager and how to implement strategies to ensure achievement of those priorities.
• Create a value/effort matrix to evaluate tasks needing to be completed in order to maintain organization.
• Establish solutions to improve communication and resolve conflicts through case studies.
• Demonstrate effective interviewing and hiring techniques .
• Determine appropriate methods used for loss prevention with store employees, physical inventory and retail customers.
