Description

Financial Planning is designed to provide students with a foundation of finances from the basics of savings and budgets to investing and preparing for retirement. This will be accomplished through lectures, videos, presentations, assignments, activities, and assessments.
Course Objectives:
• Manage saving, budgets, and debt
• Calculate tax withdrawals and fill out tax forms
• Communicate effectively about money in relationships
• Identify marketing strategies
• Apply five basic rules to large purchases
• Know the guidelines of negotiation
• Describe value of credit reports and credit scores
• Identify the types of insurance and the necessity of each
• Compare various types of investments
• Define relationship between diversification and risk
• Classify various types of retirement savings options
• Compare different types of mortgages
• Explain tips for buying and selling real estate
