Description

This course is a real world hands-on approach to learning pneumatic principles and circuitry. Topics include force and energy transmission, identifying ANSI and ISO pneumatic symbols, and understanding how to read and draw pneumatic schematics. Students will use schematics to construct pneumatic circuits and components. Learn pneumatic system operation and symbols including gauges, directional control valves, cylinders, motors, compressors, filters, regulators, and lubricators. Students will identify PSIA, Hg, and PSIG pressure scales, flow, volume and compression rates. Students will learn how to install, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic systems. Prerequisite: ELEC 1001 Computer Tools for Technology and AMAR 1000 Basic Workplace Safety
Objectives:
• Identify fluid ANSI and ISO symbols.
• Identify different types of cylinders, pumps, motors, compressors and pumps.
• Explain the difference between controls and actuators.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic systems.
