Description
This course is a study in microcontroller based mobile robotics platforms. Emphasis is placed on laboratory experiments dealing with program execution and interfacing. In this project based course students will choose a platform to work with from several available on the market such as Arduino, Microchip, or others and build a mobile ground robotic vehicle. The student will put together a proposal of what to design, build, program and test for the instructor?s approval. Prerequisite: ELEC2052, Microcontrollers 2.
Objectives:
? Understand microcontroller architecture.
? Learn to design and build a microcontroller controlled mobile ground robotic vehicle.
? Learn to program and test a microcontroller based mobile robot.
? Apply peripheral sensors and interfacing in software and hardware.
? Learn to control servo motors.
