Description

In this course a student will use the drone previously built in ELEC 2540 and other department drones to learn more about drone operations and data collection. The student will get hands-on experience programming an autopilot for autonomous flight to accomplish a variety of missions such as mapping and inspections. Students will be introduced to several payloads and sensors, how to collect data from those sensors, and how to analyze and get useful information from the data. Prerequisites: ELEC 2540 Drone Build – Small Unmanned Aerial Systems, ELEC 2520 Remote Pilot Certification, and ELEC 2500 Drone Piloting.

• Learn to program and test a DRONE
• Learn applications for drones
• Apply peripheral sensors, equipment, and interfacing in software and hardware.
• Learn about data collection, analysis, and application.
• Master skills to control and pilot DRONEs.
• Learn about programming an autopilot and how to use it.
• Learn basic drone mapping, inspections, orthomos
