Description

This course teaches how to install, configure, manage, and maintain a Linux server and common Linux and Open Source services such as NFS, Samba, Apache, FTP, DHCP, and DNS. Other topics covered include: Advanced File System Administration subjects such as RAID, LVM, POSIX ACLs, Quotas, and auto-mounting, Remote Administration and Management tool like SSH, VNC, and Webmin, and Centralized User Management using NIS and LDAP. This course also introduces internet mail. Successful completion will enable a student to install, configure, and administer a single or small group of Linux servers in a small to medium sized business environment. This course prepares students for exams such as the LPI, Red Hat or other Linux certifications.

• Install and configure a Linux server
• Configure advanced Linux file system and volume management tools such as software RAID, LVM, Quotas, POSIX ACLs and auto-mounting of local and remote volumes
