Description

This course is designed for graphic artists and designers, writers and editors, production artists, typesetters, and pre-press professionals. Students will learn the tools offered by alternative publishing software (such as Adobe PageMaker) to integrate text and graphics from many sources into virtually any kind of publication, from newsletters and brochures to color catalogs and magazines to Web pages, with maximum precision and control.
Objectives:
• Assemble a single-page black-and-white flyer
• Create a letterhead
• Lay out a three-page project proposal
• Create a four-color CD-ROM jewel-case booklet
• Assemble a guidebook using automatic layout features
• Lay out a newsletter using professional typography and layout features
• Import graphics for a product catalog
• Generate an index and a table of contents
• Repurpose a print newsletter for distribution on the Web
• Create a multimedia PDF document
