Description

This course provides students that have completed PLC-1 with an introductory experience using Rockwell Software's Studio 5000 and a CompactLogix processor. Students will be introduced to networking, connection to a PLC using RSLinx, Studio 5000 tags, and addressing IO. The student then will perform various labs intended to increase familiarity and competency in the studio 5000 and CompactLogix environments. Prerequisite: AMAR 1600 Programmable Logic Controllers 1.
Objectives:
• Describe and Ethernet network.
• Demonstrate connection of RSLinx to a PLC via an Ethernet network.
• Demonstrate the use of tags in Studio 5000.
• Demonstrate online editing of a PLC program using Studio 5000.
• Demonstrate the ability to program several tasks using a Compact Logix PLC and Studio 5000.
