Description

This course covers electricity, motors, controls, and components relative to HVAC-R plus principles of heating and air conditioning. Basic refrigeration systems and applications will be introduced and testing for the EPA certification will be completed for refrigerant gasses. Natural gas testing and certification will be completed during scheduled class instruction. Prerequisite: AMAR 1000 Basic Workplace Safety
Objectives:
• Explain the theory of heat.
• Explain basic automatic controls and electric motors.
• Know commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, and all weather systems.
• Repair domestic appliances including chilled water air conditioning systems.
