Description

Introduction to the basic theory of digital circuits and programmable logic devices (PLDs). Binary, octal, and hexadecimal number systems, truth tables, logic gates, flip-flops, counter, shift registers, interfacing techniques, sequential logic circuits, combinational logic circuits, memory systems, digital busses, A/D and D/A conversions will be covered. Prerequisite: ELEC1022 Electronics Fundamentals AC
Objectives:
• Basic digital electronics concepts.
• Understand the difference between the analog and digital electronics circuits.
• Digital concepts relating to PLDs.
• Interfacing to real-world inputs and outputs.
